Costa Rica’nın kahve ekimi yapılan bölgelerinden Valle Central bölgesinde yolların ve yük araçlarının henüz olmadığı dönemlerde o bölge köylerinin iki temel geçim kaynağı varmış.

Birincisi tabii ki kahve ekimi...İkincisi ise bu kahvelerin toplanma işleminden sonra eşekler ile sahil kesimindeki kahve toptancılarına ulaştırılması...

Vefatından sonra "Don Juan" diye anılacak olan Juan Ricard Callas bu kahve taşıyıcıları arasında çalışan bir işçiymiş.Çalışkanlığı ve güvenilirliği onu diğer işçilerden ayıran ve çiftçiler tarafından beğenilen bir işçi olmasını sağlamış.Çiftçiler genelde kahvelerini şehre taşıması için onu beklerlermiş.Aynı zamanda kahve toptancıları da Don Juan’ı güvenilir bulduklarından çiftçilere ödenecek parayı ulaştırması için ona verirlermiş.

Don Juan'ın kendisi zamanla tamamen bu işle anılır olmuş, öyle ki köyün adının duyulmasını sağlamış.Vefatı üzerine şehirdeki kahve toptancıları Don Juan'ı, eşeğini ve köyünü ebedi yaşatmak için önce Coffee of Village,ilerleyen yıllarda ise Coffee Village adıyla anılan kahve markasını kurmuşlar.

Daha sonra oradan ABD'ye ve şimdi de Türkiye’ye...

In Costa rica, in the region of valle central, where the main sources of income to the locals was known as coffee planation. In the ages where yet horse carrages did not yet exist, the main income was firstly the planting of coffee, and after the transport of these mass amounts of quality coffee on the backs of donkey's to the wholesalers.

As he was later known as ''Don Juan''. Juan Ricard Callas was a regular worker in the transportation of the coffee beans. His hard working efforts and reliebility seperated Juan from the rest of the workers. The farmers appreciated the effort "Don Juan" presented and he was very much popular within the farmers. They usually waited for Juan to arrive to send the coffee with him to the wholesalers, in the mean time the wholesalers would trust Don Juan enough to give him the payments for the coffee to be delieverd to the farmers, Don Juan was a reliable and trustworthy man in the eyes of the valle central community.

Don Juan would totally give him self to his work at times, to the extent that the name of Valle Central was herd across Costa Rica. With his tragic death the valle central farmers wanted to make Don Juan, His donkey and the village name last for ever, and so firstly called Coffee of village and in the following years it was changed to Coffee Village. This was founded as a cafe, later on spread threw the USA, and now at your service first in Turkey...
